How to get a license?
An operator must sign a license agreement with AGICOA, or with a local Collective Management Organization holding a representation agreement with AGICOA.
What kind of use does a license cover?
A license covers the simultaneous, full, unaltered, and continuous retransmission by cable, satellite or by any similar means of audiovisual works contained in television programs aimed at the public. It also covers the intervention by satellite package providers, cable distribution platforms or other comparable distribution means.
AGICOA may also license the use of audiovisual works contained in television programs transmitted as part of on-demand audiovisual media services, such as catch up, start from the beginning or digital video recorder services.
In which countries does AGICOA operate?
AGICOA operates worldwide, either directly or through the AGICOA Alliance or other partners holding a representation agreement with AGICOA.
How is the license price set?
AGICOA informs the operator of the applicable tariff, which is calculated on the basis of criteria including inter alia, economic value of the use of the rights at stake, nature and scope of its use, services provided by AGICOA.
